Our Community

Community is important to NCS for a number of reasons. Every man in NCS Manhattan is part of our chapter community, but that isn’t the end of the story. A chapter is the local presence of NCS, but NCS has a much bigger vision than just a collection of local gatherings. NCS is about bringing the Kingdom to the marketplace. We do that with connectivity. Since we come from the marketplace, we all know how powerful connections are. NCS believes that the connections between the chapters spread around the world, make us much more influential and capable of living our motto. So beyond our chapter community is the even larger community of NCS—an interconnected network sharing connections, resources and ideas nationally and internationally. NCS is about the Kingdom, right here and wherever it is growing. So, we look for ways to connect with each other, live pure, speak truth and right wrongs beyond our local circles. We are committed to exponential leverage. We want life at the “max”. That’s why NCS puts effort into national gatherings and international involvement.

But community for NCS Manhattan begins in our local chapter, and there are many ways to enter and engage in our local community:

Join: If NCS community begins in the chapter, the NCS Manhattan community begins with joining NCS and affiliating yourself with our chapter. By joining and affiliating yourself with NCS Manhattan, you will be able to receive e-mails about our events and communicate with other NCS Manhattan members. Joining NCS also gives you access to member-only resources and privileges on the NCS website, including participating in the NCS Forum and accessing our audio and video archives.
NCS Energy Groups: NCS Manhattan meetings are about making connections that will lead to authentic and transparent friendships, but that is just where the conversation begins. Building and deepening those friendships requires the kind of intimacy that is difficult to achieve in a group of more than 10-12 men. NCS Energy Groups are smaller groups of men (not groups of smaller men) recreating the feeling of those first meetings in Jim’s family room. Every NCS Manhattan man should get involved in the community of an Energy Group.
Communicate: Another way to continue the conversations begun in NCS Manhattan meetings or NCS Energy Groups is one-on-one communication. When you become affiliated with NCS Manhattan, you can choose to let other NCS Manhattan members (or all NCS members) see your e-mail address.
Chapter Partners: Because NCS Manhattan knows that it can’t be all things to all men, our community extends beyond NCS. We encourage and develop lots of partnerships with groups and organizations in order to provide support and service opportunities for NCS Manhattan men. We want our members to benefit from ministries that can help them be the men God designed them to be, and we want them to be part of churches, charities and challenges because we are all enriched in the process.
